Once these first thirty seconds have passed, another thin layer is applied. When this is done, the patch itself is put into place. A tool is also used to push out the patch properly. The patch must lay flat against the boat or the air bubbles will cause issues down the road.

After this entire process is completed, the glued-on patch is then left to dry for six hours before any pressure can be applied. Once this time has passed, pressure can then be applied. After forty-eight hours, the bonding agent has fully cured. After seven days, it will have reached maximum bonding.
